Professional development

The wealth of talent and knowledge within our Department means we're able to offer professional development training to your workforce.

We offer an annual course in bespoke practical training in X-ray services, which provides practical training in all aspects of X-ray analysis. Specific course units cover the following:

  • powder X-ray diffraction
  • single crystal X-ray diffraction
  • small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS)
  • X-ray fluorescence (XRF).

Flexible study formats

The duration of the course is flexible depending on your requirements, ranging from a short one-week intensive course (per unit), to a complete course taking a full academic year.

The full-year course takes you from the basics of X-ray methods to being able to collect, analyse and interpret data.
