The unit aims to:

  • provide specialist knowledge in the design of therapeutics and consider the basis of specific diseases and their treatment.
  • encourage students to integrate their knowledge in medicinal chemistry in selected areas of disease therapy

Demonstrate how the advanced approaches in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences can be used for the design, development and clinical applications of effective medicines and diagnostic tools in various disease areas’

Relate specialist knowledge and skills gained in basic science disciplines to a range of challenging clinical problems by integrating drug discovery and nanomedicine concepts to specific disease areas.
