Radiochemistry Funding Success
Gareth Law and Sam Shaw (SEAES) have been awarded £400K by STFC for 'Env-Rad-Net+', the successor to their highly successful Env-Rad-Net (www.envradnet.co.uk).
The new project will employ a PDRA who will work between the University of Manchester, Diamond Light Source, and other facilities at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratories, facilitating radioactive sample analysis and technique development. In related news, the two UoM staff are organising a conference at the RSC’s London home, Burlington House, this January to celebrate the successes of the original Env-Rad-Net. The meeting, entitled ‘Frontiers in Environmental Radioactivity' is being jointly organised by the RSC’s Radiochemistry Group. Keynote speakers include: Prof. Annie Kersting (LLNL), Prof. Steve Conradson (Soleil), Prof. Kevin Rosso (PNNL), Prof. Thorsten Stumpf (Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden Rossendorf), Prof. Nik Kaltsoyannis (UoM), and Prof. Katherine Morris (UoM).
