Present Around The World competition
Congratulations to Chloe Holroyd, who is in the third year of her PhD with Andrew Horn, Sven Koehler and Cinzia Casiraghi: she has just won the Manchester heat of the Present Around The World (PATW) competition.
PATW is organised by the Institute of Engineering and Technology and is open to anyone under 26 with a technical background. Participants present for 10 minutes to a general audience on an engineering or technology-related topic, followed by 5 minutes of questions. The Manchester heat on 11th March included PhD students, apprentices and people working in technical jobs in the North West. Chloe’s successful presentation covered aspects of her work on vibrational sum-frequency spectroscopy of polymer surfaces. Her success takes her next to the regional final in June, and then hopefully the national and international competitions later in the year (just as she completes her thesis write-up!).
More information can be found on the PATW website.
