Dr. Ralph Adams (NMR Fellow): JACS Spotlight

The most recent email from JACS listing Spotlights articles, in which JACS editors highlight particularly interesting papers, was unusual in including two Spotlights on papers with Manchester authors, both featuring our new NMR Fellow, Dr Ralph Adams.

The first (http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/ja506476x) describes his work at York with Simon Duckett and Robin Perutz on using laser-triggered photolysis of metal dihydrides in the presence of parahydrogen to reveal the NMR spectra of nanomolar reaction intermediates. The second (http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/ja5085628), with Dr Mohammadali Foroozandeh of Manchester Chemistry’s NMR methodology group, describes the ultra-high resolution PSYCHE-TOCSY experiment featured in September’s Newsletter.
