Layfield group has publication in JACS
Layfield group publishes in J. Am. Chem. Soc.
Two post-docs in the Layfield group, Ben Day and Tom Pugh, have had their work on the rearrangement chemistry of iron N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes published as a communication in JACS. The paper describes the non-innocent behaviour of NHC ligands in three-coordinate iron complexes, and on-going work will study the implications of the findings for the use of NHC ligands in iron catalysis. The paper has been made available as a gold open access article through the university’s RCUK institutional OA grant.
