Professor Peter Budd: EPSRC Grant success in membranes for gas and liquid separations
Collaborative research in membranes for gas and liquid separations has been boosted by two major EPSRC grants kicking-off in 2015.
A joint project between Manchester and Liverpool Universities is looking at "Organic Mixed Matrix Membrane Technologies for Post-combustion CO2 Capture" (ORGMENT). A programme grant involving Manchester, Newcastle, Imperial College, Edinburgh and Bath Universities, entitled "From Membrane Material Synthesis to Fabrication and Function" (SynFabFun), will seek to develop essentially “immortal” membranes. This adds to our existing research activity in “Graphene-based membranes”, which links researchers across the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
