The University offers an Orientation event which all students can attend. It is strongly advised by the university that International Students attend. Orientation events will start on Thursday, 14 September and end on Sunday, 17 September. Core presentations will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, giving you crucial information about your new life and study in Manchester. There will also be workshop sessions that will allow you to find out more about key topics such as healthcare and immigration. More information and booking form for the event can be found here.

English Diagnostics Test

All students who don't speak English as their first language are highly recommended to take the online English Diagnostic Test. The test covers areas such as grammar, depth of vocabulary and general writing skills. This will help the University in knowing what level a student is currently at and what help they will require. More information and the test can be found here. There are no repercussions for getting a low mark in the test and free help will be made available to those students who are seen to be struggling. It is therefore highly useful if you feel like you may struggle with elements of the English language.
