Research quality

Chemistry at Manchester has a distinguished history of achievement. This tradition of excellence is being continued by our current research programme and by our excellent teaching.

The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) measures the quality of research conducted in universities and other higher education institutions in the UK against international standards of excellence.

The School was ranked fourth for 'research power' in the last RAE 2008 exercise.

We are also ranked excellent for teaching.
