Workshop in NMR

The intensive two day workshop in NMR was a success, as in the previous years (2010, 2011 and 2012), with positive feedback and helpful suggestions from the participants. There were representatives from both well known industrial  houses  (GlaxoSmith Kline, Syngenta etc) and academic institutions (Cambridge, Queen Mary, Leeds , Liverpool etc).  The guest lecture by Prof David O'Hagan (St Andrews) was much acclaimed. As before, despite the unfavourable economic conditions, the event managed to generate sustained sponsorship from various sources.  An important feature  of the workshop is the award of a postgraduate bursary (£ 500, sponsored by Wiley-Blackwell) and this year's winner was Mr Lewis Tunnicliffe, Final year PhD, Materials Chemistry, Queen Mary, London (see photo, facing the camera). In view of the growing and strong response, the workshop shall be held again next year (9th and 10th Jan 2014) – Vasudevan Ramesh.
