Travelling By Train
The scientific programme commences at 10.30 am. A summary of the trains scheduled to arrive in Manchester on the day of the symposium between 9.15 am and 11 am from major towns and cities in the UK can be downloaded below. These times are for preliminary information only. Delegates are advised to check times with rail companies for updated information prior to travel. This list is NOT exhaustive and may be subject to significant alteration.
The journey from Piccadilly Station to the School of Chemistry Brunswick Street can be made free of charge by using the chartered shuttle bus that departs Piccadilly Station at 9.30 am and 10 am ONLY. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to take advantage of this service. There will also be a return service after the conclusion of the symposium (ca. 6.30 pm).
Otherwise, the journey from Piccadilly Station to the School of Chemistry Brunswick Street can be made on foot (20 minutes), by taxi, or by using the scheduled service Oxford Road Link bus (no 147) that runs from Piccadilly Rail Station across the campus stopping at 14 locations and finishing at Grafton Street. This service runs on weekdays between 7.15am and 6.45pm, at 10-minute intervals, and can be caught from the Fairfield Street entrance to Piccadilly Station.
A taxi from Piccadilly Station to the Oxford Road area of the campus will cost you about £5.
Car Parking
We regret that on-street parking in the vicinity of the School of Chemistry is extremely limited and visitors are recommended to use a car park.
Car parking is available in the multi storey car park on Booth Street West.
